Sweet panniyaram is an easy-to-do recipe with wheat flour. Here have showed you a step-by-step procedure with pictures which will simplify the making of recipe. Sweet comes from banana which we add while making. Also, jaggery will enhance the flavour of the panniyaram. This would be a great snacks for your kids which may take few minutes to make. Since you don't have to soak and grind for making batter. This will be a yet another snacks recipe in the time of lockdown. Have seen many ladies have started to learn more of cooking during these days. So give a try to this recipe which may add one more to your cooking skills.



COOKING TIME: 2 -3 mins for each batch.



Wheat flour - 2 cups.

Banana - 4.

Salt -1/8 tsp.

Jaggery - 1 cup.

Water - As required.

Ghee - As required.


  1. Peel and mash banana using fork.

  2. Melt jaggery in 1/2 cup water, until it melts and strain it.


  1. In a bowl take wheat flour and salt give it a mix.

  2. Add banana and jaggery water and mix it. Gradually, add water and make a smooth batter with flowing consistency.

  3. In panniyaram pan apply ghee when it bubbles up pour 3/4th batter.

  4. Once it fluffs up turn it around and let it turn to golden brown and it doesn't stick the turner when you take the panniyaram.

Serve hot.



Take your ingredients.

Mash banana with a fork.

In a bowl mix all the ingredients except water and ghee.

Dissolve jaggery in water.

Gradually, add water and make a smooth batter consistency.

Add ghee in panniyaram pan.

Pour 3/4th laddle in the bowl.

Flip it over.

Serve hot.


  • More ripe the banana the taste would be great.

  • A pinch of salt will enhance the flavour.
