French fries is a world famous dish and popular recipe of all age group. Fries are normally, crunchy outside and soft inside. This was basically a culture in foreign land to serve as side serving for all dishes, which later became a tradition to serve in all fast food store as a side serving like KFC, MC Donald, Burger King.

Kids are crazy over these fried stuffs, they gorge these into their tummy as soon as possible. Even stingy eating kids love it.

Cut the potatoes to cube size. The first and most important step is to rinse it with running water twice or thrice to remove the starch from the potatoes or else this may become soggy and ruin the taste and crispness. Boil it for few minutes in salted water. If you guys need for party, fry it once and allow it to come to room temperature. Then store in freezer in an airtight container. If you follow these tips and tricks you may taste the fast food fries at your door step. Always choose large potatoes for doing this recipe.



COOKING TIME : 15-20 mins



Potatoes - 4-5

Oil - For frying

Salt - To taste


  1. Peel the potatoes and cut it into medium cubes.

  2. Wash them thoroughly so that the starch is removed from the potatoes, you can wash it twice or thrice.

  3. In a vessel allow the water to come to boil, once it comes to rolling boil add the cut potatoes and salt as per your taste.

  4. Allow to boil for 5-7 mins.

  5. Drain the water in a strainer.

  6. Deep fry the half boiled potatoes, till it turns light golden colour.

  7. Drain it in tissue paper, allow to come to room temperature.

  8. Once again deep fry it, till it becomes golden yellow colour.

Serve hot with tomato sauce.


Peel and cut potatoes. Wash the starch from potatoes.

Allow the water to come to rolling boil, during which you can add little salt.

Add the potatoes and let it boil for 5-7 mins.

Strain the potatoes and allow it to come to room temperature.

Deep fry the potatoes to light golden colour.

Deep fry to golden yellow colour.

Serve hot with tomato sauce.


  • To have fries spicy you can sprinkle pepper and give it a toss.

  • While boiling the potato you can check the preparedness by pricking with knife to see if it sticks to the knife.
